In QuotedData’s morning briefing 15 July 2024:

  • Brunner (BUT) has published its interim results for the six months ended 31 May 2024. BUT provided an NAV total return of 12.8% (with debt at fair value) underperforming its composite benchmark (70% FTSE World Index Ex UK and 30% FTSE All-Share Index with net dividends reinvested), which it says generated a return of 13.9%. The discount narrowed significantly with BUT providing a share price total return of 26.0%. BUT benefited from overweight positions in industrials and financials and an underweight in consumer staples. After a couple of years of unusually strong growth driven by inflation related price increases, growth has decelerated sharply.
  • Henderson European Focus Trust has has officially changed to Henderson European Trust (with effect from 11 July 2024). The new name and ticker (HET) are expected to take effect today (Monday 15 July 2024).
