In tomorrow’s ETF show, I’m joined by Andrew McHattie to discuss how the active ETF market needs to develop if it is to fulfil its potential. After tracking the sector closely over the past six months, Andrew has identified four areas where he would like to see meaningful progress.
We discuss why many newer active ETFs remain unavailable on major investment platforms, whether providers should move beyond large-cap indices and offer more specialist strategies, and the need for better information and performance data for investors. We also look at one of the industry’s less comfortable issues: the large number of active ETFs that remain very small, and whether asset managers need to provide more meaningful seed capital if those funds are to build scale and survive.
