- Katherine Garrett-Cox to leave Alliance Trust Investments in March 2016
Alliance Trust has announced that Katherine Garrett-Cox (pictured) will stand down as chief executive of its management company, Alliance Trust Investments Limited (also a subsidiary of Alliance Trust ), and will be leaving the company on 11 March 2016. The company says that this follows discussions between the Board and Katherine about the future requirement for the chief executive role within Alliance Trust Investments. They say that the process of implementing the changes announced last year to enhance shareholder returns are now well underway and it is clear to them that the role of chief executive has changed significantly. The responsibilities of the Chief Executive are to be reassigned. Investment responsibilities are led by Peter Michaelis and the team who joined Alliance Trust Investments in 2012 and have been managing the Trust’s equity portfolio since October 2014. Operational responsibilities will be passed to Ramsay Urquhart as Managing Director of Alliance Trust Investments.
