He will work closely alongside TEMIT’s lead portfolio manager Chetan Sehgal, who continues to serve as director of portfolio management for Global Emerging Markets (GEM) and Small Cap strategies for Franklin Templeton Emerging Markets Equity.

They point out that the portfolio managers of TEMIT are further supported by an experienced team of over 80 dedicated emerging markets investment professionals located across 20 offices around the world.

Paul Manduca, chairman of Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust PLC, commented: “Andrew Ness brings a wealth of experience, and we believe his appointment as a portfolio manager, together with Chetan Sehgal’s strong leadership, will further strengthen the team’s investment resources and capabilities and position the company well for the future. The board looks forward to working alongside both Chetan and Andrew.”
