HgCapital to invest in B2B platform Litera Microsystems – The private equity trust, HgCapital (HGT), has this morning announced that it is investing in Chicago-based Litera Microsystems (Litera), a provider of end-to-end document lifecycle solutions to the legal and life sciences industries worldwide. HGT will invest approximately £32.1m in Litera (terms have not been disclosed yet).

Litera has developed a suite of legal document productivity applications, delivered as an end-to-end platform to more than 1,300 organisations across the globe. Litera aims to provides a suite of productivity tools that help customers to focus on creating high quality documents.
The investment in Litera ties into one of HGT’s core focus areas, the growth of software suppliers for business-critical functions in the legal and regulatory compliance sector.
We note that Litera will represent the sixth legal and compliance business currently in HGT’s portfolio, with others including STP, a provider of insolvency and law practice software in Germany; and Mitratech, a leading global provider of Enterprise Legal Management software to corporate legal departments, based in Austin, Texas.
