Cordiant Digital Infrastructure (CORD) is heading for a name change after the Canadian investment group that helped launch the company five years ago resigned.
Following a strategic review, Cordiant Capital Inc (CCI) has sold its 50.7% interest in Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Management LLP, a UK limited liability partnership that has provided investment advisory services to CDIM since 2021.
Steven Marshall, the co-founder, executive chairman and managing partner of CDIM, has bought CCI’s membership interest to give him 99%. He has agreed that Cordiant Digital Infrastructure will appoint a new alternative investment fund manager (AIFM) to which CDIM will provide its services.
This will enable Marshall and the CDIM team to continue in their roles of managing the investment company’s £1.3bn assets and strategy. CDIM will be an appointed representative of the new investment manager and will act as its investment adviser.
Marshall, who owns 2% of shares in Cordiant Digital Infrastructure, said: “Cordiant Capital Inc played an important role working with me to bring the company to life and in building it into the leading specialist digital infrastructure investor on the London Stock Exchange. I appreciate Cordiant Capital’s support in this regard.”
He said buying CCI’s stake had substantially increased his commitment to Cordiant Digital Infrastructure and investment in CDIM while ensuring “that the team and I can continue to build on the success over the past few years for the benefit of all shareholders.”
Cordiant Capital Inc CEO and managing partner Cédric Garnier-Landurie said: “It has been a privilege to work with Steven to build a leading digital infrastructure platform, and we take great pride in what we have achieved together.
“Following a strategic review undertaken after I became CEO in June 2025, we have decided to focus on our core strategies in agriculture value chain and mission-critical infrastructure, allowing us to concentrate our resources where we can have the greatest impact.”
Shonaid Jemmett-Page, chair of Cordiant Digital Infrastructure, said: “The transaction represents a change of ownership of CDIM and does not affect the company’s investment strategy, portfolio or management, and shareholders can expect continuity of service. I see Steven’s enhanced financial commitment to CDIM as a strong positive for shareholders.
“I thank CCI for their support in helping to develop the company and fully understand their decision to focus on their core areas of expertise.”
An extraordinary general meeting seeking shareholder approval for a change of name of the company will be called in due course, it said.
Cordiant Digital shares dipped 1.5p to 125.5p on a discount of around 13% to net asset value. They have rallied 36% in the past year and entered the FTSE 250 index in June.
