Overview
Nippon Active Value Fund is targeting attractive levels of capital growth for shareholders from the active management of a focused portfolio of quoted small cap Japanese equity investments with market capitalisations up to $1bn (although this is not a hard limit). The intention is to take large minority positions in investee companies to enable the Company to effectively implement activist strategies. The company intends to invest in businesses which are run by professional directors and not owner operator businesses, as it believes these will be more open to activist strategies. The company intends to acquire large minority stakes of typically 4.9 to 25.0% in each investee company.
