Better tomatoes thanks to SQN

SQN Asset Finance is providing £16m of funding for two Combined Heat and Power Plants that will be used to provide heat, carbon dioxide and electricity to the largest glasshouse tomato growing facility in the UK (located on the Isle of Wight).  The project is being managed by Triple Point. The CHP plants will be gas powered. They’ll generate 11MW. The farm uses sophisticated technology to monitor and manage the growth of the tomatoes which capture the carbon dioxide and use the heat generated to improve the volume and quality of the crop. The surplus electricity generated is sold to the local electricity grid and provides standby generation capacity to local supply. Better tomatoes thanks to SQN
