Stratex confirms mineralisation over 1.2 km strike at Madina Bafé prospect, Senegal

Stratex International has completed a trenching programme at the Madina Bafé prospect at its 85%-owned Dalafin gold project, in Senegal. Channel-sampling results include 4.0 m at a grade of 1.40 g/t gold and 6.0 m at 0.86 g/t gold in highly weathered material (ie potentially leached and thus lower grade than unweathered material).

The company sampled along a series of sheeted tourmaline-quartz veins and quartz-tourmaline breccias and has confirmed mineralisation over 1.2 km NE strike and over a width of 30- 45 m.

Based on these results Stratex may follow up with further trenching in Q4 2015 and with drilling next year.

Meanwhile, the company reports that construction at its 45%-owned Altintepe gold project, in Turkey, is on track for completion in August 2015, with the first gold pour expected by the end of Q3. Stratex’s partner, Bahar Madencilik, has been funding all pre-production costs, including US$39 million towards construction, in order to earn its 55% interest in the project. The mine is expected to produce 30 koz/y of gold.
