GCP Student Living is expanding its management team with the appointment of Nick Barker, former Head of Alternatives, Property at Schroder Property Investment Management. Previous to this he was Assistant fund manager for Schroder UK Property Fund (SPF), based in London. He joined Schroders in September 2007 following 3 years with Cushman & Wakefield Investors, London (2004-2007). He attended University of Reading between 2001-2004, where he gained a BSc in Investment and Finance in Property, University of Reading. Prior to this he worked for Jones Lang LaSalle from 1999 to 2001 and Commercial Properties (DTZ Local representatives) from 1998 to 1999 both based in São Paulo, Brazil. Nick is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a member of the Investment Property Forum and holder of the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).
Nick will work alongside Tom Ward in assuming co-lead responsibility for the provision of investment advice to the Company on an ongoing basis.
