Franklin Templeton snaps up Edinburgh Partners

Franklin Templeton Investments has announced that it has agreed, subject to the necessary regulatory approvals, to acquire Edinburgh Partners. Edinburgh Partners is an independent fund management house that is headed up by Dr. Sandy Nairn, a former Franklin manager. Dr. Nairn spent ten years at franklin Templeton, between 1990 and 2000, as an executive vice president and the director of global equity research.

It is reported that Sandy Nairn will retain his role as chief executive and investment partner of Edinburgh Partners but he will become also chairman of Templeton Global Equity Group, reporting to Stephen Dover, head of equities at Franklin Templeton.
