JPMorgan European Smaller manager departs after 23 years – in a terse statement, JPMorgan European Smaller Companies has revealed that its manager of 23 years no longer wants to run the fund.

After 23 years of being involved in the successful management of the JPMorgan European Smaller Companies Investment Trust Plc, Jim Campbell has returned from personal leave and has informed the Board that he has decided to pursue other opportunities within JPMorgan Asset Management. The company will continue to be managed by the same successful team that has worked with Jim for many years, applying the same investment approach. The board wish to thank Jim for his significant contribution over the last 23 years and wish him all the best for the future.”

JPMorgan European Smaller Companies has returned 12.2% per annum over the past ten years according to Morningstar, making it the best performing fund in its peer group over that period. It is also the best performing fund over one year.
