Fee cut for Baillie Gifford Japan – The board of The Baillie Gifford Japan Trust has announced that the annual management fee payable to its investment managers and secretaries, Baillie Gifford & Co Limited, will be reduced.
With effect from 1 January 2019 the opening tier of 0.95% on the first GBP50m of net assets is being reduced to 0.75%. Thereafter, the annual management fee will be as follows: 0.75% on the first GBP50m of net assets, 0.65% on the next GBP200m of net assets and 0.55% for net assets in excess of GBP250m. The fee will continue to be calculated and paid on a quarterly basis.
All things being equal, this will lower the trust’s ongoing charges ratio but perhaps not significantly.
