Alex Barr joins Henderson Alternative team – Alex Barr will work as senior manager on Henderson Alternative Strategies Trust, alongside James de Bunsen and Peter Webster. Janus Henderson Investors has appointed Alex Barr to join its UK Multi-Asset and Alternatives team in London and he will be starting in July 2019. Alex will be co-manager on a number of Janus Henderson Multi-Asset Alternatives funds, including the company.
Alex joins from Aberdeen Standard Investment Management, where he was global head of private markets and real estate investment oversight. Alex has 26 years of experience in financial markets, specialising in alternative assets. Alex also held the role of head of private equity at Aberdeen Asset Management and lead manager of Aberdeen Private Equity Fund Ltd.
Commenting on the appointment, Richard Gubbins, chairman, said: “We are delighted that someone of Alex’s calibre and seniority will be joining our portfolio management team. The combination of Alex and our existing team of James de Bunsen and Peter Webster will be formidable and positions us well for the future”
