  • BlackRock Income and Growth (BRIG) reported annual results to 31 October 2020. During the year the company’s NAV per share returned -16.7%. At the share price level, the company returned -14.8% over the period. As at 28 January 2021, since the year-end BRIG’s NAV and share price have increased by 17.1% and 10.2%. In the manager’s outlook section, BRIG note that “UK valuations are extreme and even on an industry-adjusted basis remain at multi-decade lows vs other international markets. We do believe that once the market has certainty, we could see this divergence narrow.”
  • FastForward Innovations (FFWD) has invested £250k in South West Brands, a London-based group that is seeking to establish itself as a multi-brand consumer goods group developed specifically for the CBD industry. The investment is by way of a two year, 6%, convertible loan note.
  • Martin Currie Global Portfolio (MNP) announced that Neil Gaskell will step down as chair of its board and be succeeded by Gillian Watson as on 1 February 2021. Gillian has acted as a non-executive director for the company since 1 April 2013.
  • Impax Environmental Markets (IEM) announced the appointment of Simon Fraser as a non-executive director of the company, with effect from 1 March 2021.
  • Myanmar Investments International says that following Myanmar’s military’s detention of Aung San Suu Kyi and the leader of the National League for Democracy, and the declaration of a one-year state of emergency, trading in the company’s shares and warrants were temporarily suspended at its request at 8 am today and will remain suspended until such time there is clarity on the events in Myanmar and their impact on the company.
