Digital 9 Infrastructure (DGI9) has completed the sale of its Atlantic and Irish Sea subsea fibre business, Aqua Comms, for £34.0m. This represents a monumental loss of value to shareholders, with it once being valued at $283m. We covered this in detail when the sale was first announced in January 2025, which can be read here. DGI9’s board intends to return proceeds, minus anticipated future working capital needs (which will be around a third of the proceeds), to shareholders by way of a pro‑rata compulsory capital redemption.
Another trust in wind-down, Ecofin US Renewables (RNEW), has completed the disposal of “Whirlwind”, its troubled 59.8MW wind project in Texas, for a maximum of $30m. This is made up of $12m upfront, with $11m held in escrow subject to clawback while an interconnection issue limiting capacity is resolved and up to an additional $7m based upon repowerings that may be conducted by the buyer, Buho Infrastructure.
Chrysalis Investments (CHRY) board member Anne Ewing has resigned as a non-executive director of the company effective from today.
