- Central Asia Metals on track to produce 13-14 kt of copper this year
Central Asia Metals (CAML) reports H1 2016 copper production from its Kounrad dump leach copper recovery plant, in Kazakhstan, up 27% year-on-year to 6,908 t. Sales were 6,355 t, a 24% increase on H1 2015.
The company further reports that the expansion project to exploit the Western dumps, which is being funded from cashflow generated by Kounrad, is on schedule for completion in October 2016 and under budget.
CAML is guiding copper production of between 13,000 t and 14,000 t for 2016 as a whole.
As at 30 June, the company had cash of US$30.2 million.
