John Laing Environmental buying a solar park and two wind farms

John Laing Environmental is buying a solar park and two wind farms off John Laing Group for £42.54m. They are funding the transaction from their £50m credit facility.

The solar park deal relates to Branden solar park where they are buying a 64% stake. Branden Solar comprises two separate solar parks located near Bodmin in Cornwall, with a total generating capacity of 14.7MW and is accredited for 2 ROCs. The sites have been operational since June 2013.

The two wind farms are Wear Point and Carscreugh – they are buying 100% of these assets.

Wear Point wind farm (pictured) is located near Milford Haven in South Wales and comprises four Senvion MM82 turbines with a total generating capacity of 8.2MW and is accredited for 0.9 ROCs. The site has been operational since June 2014.

Carscreugh wind farm is located near Glenluce in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland and comprises 18 Gamesa G52 turbines with a total generating capacity of 15.3MW and is accredited for 0.9 ROCs. The site has been operational since June 2014. The wind farm was sold by Gamesa to John Laing in June 2013. Under that agreement Gamesa will also carry out operations and maintenance services at the facility for 10 years.
