Did Baillie Gifford US Growth fail to disclose manager departure? – Citywire Wealth Manager has just reported that Andrei Kiselev, a co-manager of Baillie Gifford US Growth alongside Gary Robinson and Helen Xiong, left Baillie Gifford on 29 March just six days after the fund launched. Kiselev was named as a manager in the prospectus –
“Andrei is an investment manager in the US Equities Team of Baillie Gifford. Andrei grew up in Russia, but moved to the UK in 1998 to complete his secondary education. He graduated with an MA in Economics from the University of Edinburgh in 2009, and joined Baillie Gifford the same year. Andrei spent a year in the US Equities Team during his initial analyst training and went on to spend several years in global equities departments, before re-joining the US Equities Team. Andrei is a named manager of the Baillie Gifford American Fund”
[QD comment: while Andrei was a junior manager on the fund, it seems very surprising to us that his departure was not announced to the stock exchange. There are always debates about the materiality of a change such as this but we see these sort of announcements routinely. Baillie Gifford US Growth has been issuing stock on a regular basis since the launch.]
