QuotedData’s morning briefing 10 May 2022

In QuotedData’s morning briefing 10 May 2022:

  • Sadly, we have to report the death on 4 May 2022 of Robin Angus. “It is with great sadness that the board of Personal Assets Trust announces that Robin Angus, who was the company’s executive director until his retirement in September 2020, passed away on 4 May 2022. The board’s thoughts are very much with Robin’s wife Lorna and his family at this difficult time. Robin served as a director of the company from 1984 and executive director from 2002 and, together with Ian Rushbrook, was instrumental in establishing the vision for the company and for overseeing its success, as reflected in the growth from £4.7 million to £1.3 billion during his tenure.”. [Robin took the time to provide feedback on the first note that we ever published here, always had a valuable contribution to make when I was managing Advance UK Trust (where Personal Assets was a valued shareholder), and was a leading light in the investment companies industry for many years.]
  • Aquila European Renewables Income Fund (AERI) has refinanced its Desfina wind farm with €38m of 18-year debt, saving interest of about 75 basis points (0.75%) per year, extending the maturity and reducing amortisation payments by about 30% a year over the next 10 years.
  • Aberdeen Japan is now abrdn Japan – ticker is still AJIT

We also have results from Pacific Assets and 3i Infrastructure, plus a fundraise by Ecofin US Renewables.
