- Acorn Income Fund has reported interim results showing its portfolio lagging the Numis Small Cap Index and the All Share. Acorn’s geared structure made up for some of the shortfall (the NAV return was 9.7% against 10.5% and 13.0% for the indices, respectively) and a narrower discount gave shareholders a return of 13.8%. The interim dividend is 5% higher than the previous year’s.
- Safestore and Carlyle European Real estate Fund have formed a joint venture to buy M3 Self Storage, an operator of six self-storage locations in Amsterdam and Haarlem in the Netherlands. Cost to Safestore for a 20% stake is €5m. They have also completed the purchase for £6.5m of a 34,000 sq ft store near Heathrow Airport.
