  • Ed Warner, OBE has been appointed chair of JLEN Environmental Assets with effect from 2 August 2022, succeeding Richard Morse who stepped down on 15 July 2022. Ed brings extensive financial services experience from his time spent in senior positions at several investment banks and financial institutions, including IFX Group, Old Mutual, NatWest Markets, and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson. He also has considerable investment trust experience, having been chair of both Standard Life Private Equity Trust Plc (now abrdn Private Equity Opportunities) and Blackrock Energy and Resources Income Trust. He is currently chair of HarbourVest Global Private Equity Limited. Ed has also previously served as chair of Air Partner plc and non-executive director and interim chair of Clarkson plc.
  • Foresight Solar (FSFL) scrapped its scrip dividend yesterday to avoid issuing shares below NAV. The scrip dividend price was set before the recent jump in the NAV.
  • Palace Capital (PCA) has appointed Mark Davies as an independent Non-Executive Director. Davies was formerly on the board of NewRiver REIT having co-founded the company and helped take it from IPO to the FTSE250 in seven years. He was chief financial officer of NewRiver for over 12 years and, working alongside his role as CFO, was also chairman of Hawthorn Leisure Limited for five years. He stood down from the board of NewRiver following the sale of Hawthorn in July 2021 but remained as CEO of Hawthorn until its sale to Admiral Taverns in August 2021. In addition to his role as a Non-Executive Director, Davies will chair both the Audit Committee and Remuneration Committee and will also be the Senior Independent Director. Three members of Palace Capital’s board resigned last month after shareholders revolted against the company’s change in strategy.
