Overview
European Assets seeks to generate attractive long-term capital growth through investment in quoted small and medium-sized companies in Europe, excluding the UK (defined as those with a market capitalisation below that of the largest company in the HSBC Smaller Europe (ex UK) Index or to a monetary value of Euro 2.5 billion, whichever is the greater). As well as capital growth the company aims to offer an attractive quarterly dividend. A high distribution policy has been adopted and dividends have been paid mainly out of other reserves.
It is the Trust’s objective to identify companies which possess particular knowledge in specialist markets providing them with opportunities in the longer term to achieve above average growth. The Trust does not restrict its investments to any specific industrial sectors and a diversified geographical spread has been maintained.
The company is planning a combination with the European Smaller Companes Trust.
